Big Four Ice Caves Hike

Click below to view pictures of our hike last weekend to the Big Four Ice Caves. It was a leisurely hike and beautiful the whole way. At the end we saw the ice caves which are formed from 4, huge waterfalls that are cascading all the way down the mountains.

Independence Day

For the 4th of July, we headed north to spend the evening with our friends and their family. It was a cute place out in "westside" Mount Vernon. Here are their sheep with Mount Baker in the background.

We had a BBQ, played "extreme" croquet, and watched numerous fireworks displays that we could see all around us from their house.

The sunset was gorgeous!! I only wished I had noticed it sooner!

Thanks Carli & Landen for the invite! It was nice to be with you guys and your wonderful family.

Kayaking

Yesterday, we went kayaking on Lake Union in Seattle with our friends Carli & Landen to celebrate their 4th anniversary. It was fun to have the freedom to roam around this beautiful urban lake with friends.

Since the weather has been nice and warm lately, Ryan and Landen dove in to cool off.

Admiring houseboats and a guy paddling on a surfboard like we'd seen in Hawaii.

Last weekend after church, Ryan and I went to a farmer's market and then to Saint Edward State Park in Lake Forest. We stumbled upon this Scandinavian festival there. Here they are decorating a huge pole that they would afterwards put up.

Taking a walk through the forest at the park.

Various edibles along the way--elderberry, indian plum, and salmonberries.
Ryan took this picture while I was busy making hanging baskets.
