Taipei Airport

We have made the 12 hour flight to Taipei (Taiwan--small island just east of China if you're not familiar) and have been in the airport for over 3 hours. We'll start boarding for our flight to Bali in about an hour. The airport here has some free internet places, so I'm making use of one.

The flight over here went pretty quick. It was one of those new Boeing 777 planes. They are super nice. Each seat (even in economy where we were) had individual 'TV' screens with a choice of about 20 movies and probably at least 25 shows. There were also many music options where you could scan music and create your own play list.

Some other fun distinctives of this flight were for breakfast we had a Japanese meal (this is a Chinese airline though--EVA Air) with sort of a creamy rice with fish, mushrooms, and dried tuna sprinkles on top along with soy milk and a sweet bun. We each had disposable "house slippers" to wear around the airplane. The blankets were also very nice and warm. The overhead announcements were quieter than what I'm used to on American airlines, which made it easier to sleep. So far, I'd really recommend this airline, especially if it's on a 777!

We wish so badly that we could have been able to see some of Taiwan, but it would have caused our plane ticket to sky rocket to add a few day layover. We may still try to ask in Bali about this for the way back.

For now, we're tired and cranky from not getting much sleep on the overnight flight. Lord willing, we'll be at our hotel soon and resting in the tropics. : ) More later...
