MLK Day Outing

Since we had sunshine and the day off of school and work, we went snowshoeing again. We tried The Summit at Snoqualmie and really enjoyed the trails and scenery there. I had not been on a chair lift in awhile and I decided that I really didn't like it. I'm not one to be afraid of heights usually, but it seemed like we could have so easily fallen out of that chair!! I braced myself behind the pole!! : D

This was a better snowshoeing experience than the last time that we went. Last time, a muscle in my left groin was really aching. This time it hurt less. I think this was due to a shorter snowshoeing time (2 hours as opposed to 3.5 hours), using poles to bear some of the weight, and more firmly packed snow so that I didn't have to lift my legs as high when I walked.

I didn't realize how super poofy my hair was until I saw the top-right picture! Ha! There's a hood under there...but still!

Next time we plan to go cross-country skiing. The last time that I did that was about 12 years ago and I didn't have a very good experience. I have snowboarded, but have never downhill skied. It should be an interesting experience!
